Chocolate Habanero Chilli
The Chocolate Habanero has a rich flavour, balanced against it’s floral aroma. Whilst its a hot chilli, it’s by no means overpowering. It’s flavour and heat profiles mean that it’s ideally suited to spice up South American and pasta dishes alike. Alternatively one can simply mix small amounts of puree into milder condiments such as mayonaise, guacamole or pesto to spice them up.
Because it’s milder than some of our products one can add more puree to a dish. This gives your food the Chocolate Habanero chilli flavour as well as the heat. However, at anywhere between 425,000 and 577,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units) Chocolate Habanero is still quite a feisty chilli.
The Habanero chilli is thought to originate from the Amazon rainforest from which it spread to towards Mexico. Its earliest roots are traceable to Peru over 8500 years ago.
(Please note, this chilli is chocolate in colour but not in flavour.)
