The serenade pepper is a member of the Capsicum Annuum family. Serenade pepper plants can grow to 2 meters tall and beyond. A single plant will usually yield 2-3 kg peppers and which can be harvested green or red. A large fruity chilli similar to the Jalapeno pepper. It’s very popular for making sauces and home smoking.
The Scoville rating of the Serenade chilli pepper ranges from around 10,000 to 25,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units). They can be eaten raw, fermented, cooked or smoked.
They have a bright and biting flavor that is notably hotter than the Jalapeno Pepper. Serenade peppers are also commonly used in for making salsa, as the chili is particularly fleshy compared to others, making it ideal for such dishes.
